Walking the Talk

Coffex Coffee is committed to driving eco-friendly behavior in the workplace and to reduce the impact of day to day business operations on the environment.

Built around our Sustainability Policy, we have communicated our commitment to staff and put it on display where staff, customers and visitors can see it.

The following are just an example of some of the things we are doing to encourage sustainability at Coffex Coffee:

1. We buy recycled paper and reusable stationery and office products wherever possible;

2. We encourage our staff to choose public transport or cycle whenever they can;

3. We have on-site Bokashi compost bins for our food scraps, which produces the fertilisers for use on our office plants;

4. We send electronic copies of our payslips to save on paper, and have set all computers to hibernate when inactive, instead of using screen savers;

5. We use our own reusable mugs and crockery when we sit down to a Coffex coffee;

6. We turn off lights when leaving the room, and photocopiers and printers when we leave overnight;

7. We use 6 cyclinder and diesel fuelled cars for our Coffex fleet to reduce our carbon emissions;

8. We choose to pay for a percentage of green energy to power our Head Office and Factory;

9. We offset our interstate flights’ carbon emissions, as well as the average emissions of our Coffex fleet;

10. We recycle our customers’ coffee grinds as compost via the Grounds Zero program in Melbourne;

11. We encourage staff to drink tap water or use our drinking water filter instead of buying bottled water. Bottled water has a much higher carbon and water footprint than tap water and also costs 200 – 10,000 times more;

12. We encourage staff to report leaks and get them fixed promptly. A slow dripping tap can waste more than 2000 litres a month.
